Installation programs can be built using a wide variety of tools. Software developers choose the tool that fits their setup procedure best. Since many of the features are shared by these installer frameworks the choice also depend on personal preference and licensing model.
Depending on the choice of installer framework the finished setup program will most likely support a specific set of command line switches. However, there is no guarantee that this is the case.
Below you will see a list of installer frameworks. For each of these there will be a short description and a list of commonly supported command line switches.
